a woman is only as good as the peace and light she radiates

-Coco Chanel

I would absolutely disagree. I think a woman is as good as the darkness she spills, the bruises she weaves, the anger and protest and harshness she scratches up the walls with every muscle she possesses, the bites she gives, the claws she bares. I think a woman is as good as the peace and light and beauty and softness in her body, yes, those can also be good things - but she is also as good as everything else inside her; she does not has the responsibility to keep herself pure and non-confrontational and radiant in order to be a good woman.

Women are imperfect. PEOPLE are imperfect. Change is violent and valiant and hard and sometimes it is no good to radiate peace and light at all. Women are good in light and in darkness, as good as anyone else. I will never call anyone “ONLY as good” as a one-dimensional stereotype.
